Falmer Station

Falmer Station is a rather nice old station, serving the village of the same name. The village, which is actually just under half a mile away, due to being on a hill), got chopped in half back in the seventies/eighties when they decided to build a large dual carriage way right through the middle of it, is not it’s main source of passengers. The University of Sussex is just the other side of the A27 (with a handy bypass), and a small University of Brighton campus is the other side.

Good news, Euston station is to be rebuilt. Always rather a depressing place to travel through, and the poorer cousin of the other major stations. Suprissed to see this though when these sorts of things normally are on the drawing board for years before they are actually given the go-ahead (think crossrail, or thameslink 2000).

Talking of Thameslink 2000, part of it’s work will include London Bridge being rebuilt and transformed in to something much more impressive.
