This is the long suffering website of Chris Keene. I’m based in Brighton, UK. nostuff.org has been my home on the web since around 2002.

My background is in technology within higher education, especially around research and libraries.

This website goes somewhat through a boom and bust cycle. The latter currently being the case (and arguable always has been, hence the name).

You will find a collection of quite old articles in something that looks suspiciously like a blog. (see the about page)

About the website

This website started on freedom2surf ~2002 (20 pounds a year!). It then moved to dreamhost, which have shell access on a shared machine, and finally moving to linode (based in London). Wordpress has been installed (normally multiple times) throughout and been the mine content provider. Rushing the migrations, I ended up with some quote broken pages, many with hardcoded IP addresses in the URLs, wrong paths for images, and and image filenames with random digits on the end. And random spam links had been added to posts over the years.

Like many others, I’ve now moved to a static site generator - Hugo, which reduces some of these issues.
